Our Client has a successful international retail firm having a commercial footprint in Ghana and other countries of our Continent.

For their Accra premises, they are looking for an experienced HR Manager – Male or Female, ideally between 25 and 35 years old.

In Summary- what the job is all about:

Plan, direct, and coordinate all HRM activities of a large international firm to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance. Other responsibilities might occasionally include general administration tasks, such as preparing correspondence, and preparing and maintaining files and directives.

Your actual Job Tasks/ Duties / Responsibilities will be:

  • Overseeing our recruitment process and conducting job interviews.
  • Conducting reference check for candidates.
  • Guidance on the interpretation of Labour Laws, Human Resource Policies and Procedures, and Conditions of Service.
  • Ensure that employees adhere to our the company’s disciplinary rules/codes.
  • Various HR Reports
  • Timely preparations of employees work schedules.
  • YOU will be the Link between management and the staff.
  • Taking care of employee’s welfare. 
  • Responsible for Attendance Register and Employee Vacations/ Leaves, etc.
  • Filing of all company documents in accordance with Archiving Policy
  • Provide all relevant Payroll inputs to the Accounts Office in a timely manner
  • Review HR policies so that they would be relevant and uptodate with current internal and external trends
  • Setup and monitoring of our Employees’ monthly performance reviews.
  • Updating, recording and renewing all company statutory requirements
  • Making sure that Employment contracts are signed and attested at the Labour Office.
  • Preparation of Letters i.e. disciplinary, promotion, dismissal, etc.
  • …other relevant duties that could be assigned to you ad hoc

You must have :

  1. Superb English command: Exceptional written and oral communication
  2. Amazing Time Management and Organizational skills; including attention to details!
  3. It is a given that you can work -actually outperform- under pressure and to meet tight deadlines;
  4. Flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks and to work extra hours whenever needed
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills, plus honesty and reliability.
  6. Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues – you will be the HR Manager after all !!!

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. A HND or Bachelors in Human Resources – prefer a Master’s but not a must
  2. Minimum 5 years practical work experience.
  3. Good working knowledge of Ghanaian Labour Laws.
