Pharma Field Sales Representative

Graphic Road is the current Administrative location, which will relocate to Tesano around December this year… Their new building needs some finishes…
Job Summary
The Field Sales Representative is responsible for generating sales, managing customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets within an assigned territory. The role includes coordinating order fulfilment, following up on payments and tenders, monitoring market developments, and resolving customer issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Promote and sell the company’s products to retailers, wholesalers, and institutional customers.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base within the assigned territory.
- Drive the introduction and uptake of new products.
- Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets.
Customer Relationship Management and Payment Collection
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Follow up on customer payments within agreed credit periods.
- Verify that payments received match outstanding balances and follow up on any discrepancies.
Product Knowledge and Promotion
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product features, pricing, and competing products.
- Conduct product presentations, detailing, and sampling activities.
- Educate customers on appropriate product storage and handling.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor and report on competitor activities, market trends, and customer preferences.
- Provide market feedback to support pricing decisions, product development, and demand planning.
Customer Issue Resolution
- Identify and escalate customer concerns, including damaged or incorrect goods, near-expiry returns, quality issues, and pricing or discount discrepancies.
- Follow up on escalated issues in accordance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Keep customers informed of progress and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of customer issues and their resolution.
Tender Coordination
- Identify and follow up on government and institutional tender opportunities.
- Coordinate with the sales coordination team to ensure timely preparation and submission of tender documents.
- Follow up on tender outcomes, approvals, and awarded contracts.
Stock Availability and Pending Orders
- Maintain accurate records of out-of-stock items and pending orders.
- Update customers on stock availability and expected replenishment dates.
- Coordinate with internal teams to expedite stock replenishment and fulfil outstanding orders.
Delivery and Documentation
- Coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery of confirmed orders.
- Collect and verify delivery documentation, including customer signatures, stamps, seals, or other required acknowledgements.
- Escalate delivery delays and related issues for resolution.
Reporting and Territory Management
- Plan and carry out customer visits to ensure effective territory coverage.
- Monitor product availability at wholesale and retail outlets and coordinate restocking.
- Submit daily visit reports, sales summaries, payment collection records, and relevant customer communications to management.
- Maintain complete records to support audits, compliance, and performance monitoring.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Pharmacy, or a related field.
- One to three years of field sales experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective follow-up, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English and relevant local languages.
- Attention to detail and a results-oriented approach.
Working days and hours
Mon-Fri, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Occasionally, Saturday work might be required and will be additional pay
Salary
- 2300-2900 net
- 13th salary (prorated if you worked part of the year)
- Extra pay for Saturday work, when required.
